www.deadend.com ain't no ordinary comic.

In each issue of www.deadend.com, we've hidden a number of "hotspots," special areas of each page that bring up a variety of experience-enhancing multimedia material.

This material includes:

Video clips

Audio commentary

Hidden images, including bubbles depicting the "thoughts" of our characters

Links to relevant web sites

To read your deadend comic, use the console at the top and bottom of each comic page. "Back" and "Next" allow you to navigate through the pages of the comic. "Issue #" will take you back to the beginning. "Play Video Clip" lets you watch the scene from the film deadend.com that this week's webisode is based on. And "?" brings you right here for help.

At the bottom of each page, we also have "The Whole Shit," a separate console which allows you to proceed through each webisode in chronological order, without returning to the menu. Kind of a "play all" button for the web site.

Detecting Hotspots

But you want to know how to find the hidden stuff. Use your mouse to wave the pointer over the comic issue. When you find a link to hidden material, something will happen - an object will glow, an image will change, etc. Here's an example:

Pass your mouse over the image.
If nothin' happens.... sumthin's wrong.

Hotspots can show up as superimposed images, glowing coronae, changing colours, and other such changes.
